We Hit a Home-Run for Mental Health Services!
Thank you so much for stepping up to the plate for our Grand Slam Celebrity Softball Tournament presented by Toronto Honda/Kia and Scotiabank in support of mental health care at Michael Garron Hospital!
19 teams and over 200 people came out on May 12th and 13th, 2016 to show their support for Michael Garron Hospital's mental health services. What a great weekend it was – despite the unseasonable weather. The Draft Party at MUZIK on Friday night was a blast, with everyone enjoying getting to know their new recruits. At the Powerade Centre on Saturday, friendly competition ran high and our celebrities, fundraising teams, volunteers and spectators were in high spirits while making a meaningful difference for a critical cause.
With your the generous and compassionate support of our sponsors and participants, we hit it out of the park for mental health services at Michael Garron Hospital – raising a record $200,000 to enhance care for men, women, teens and children, living with mental illness.
These vital funds will help the hospital do more – build facilities to deliver innovative programs and offer new hope and healing to our mental health patients; work with community partners in creative ways to meet the needs of families who are struggling with complex mental health issues; and find new ways to reach out to those who are not yet getting help. These advancements can change lives – they can save lives.
