More than $40,000 raised!

We're excited to announce that this year’s Bed Race raised more than $40,000 in net revenue – our most successful year yet!

These funds will help to ensure that we can put the latest technology and equipment into the hands of our skilled and compassionate medical team – to provide the highest possible of care for families in our diverse community.

Moreover, each dollar raised at the Bed Race will unlock an additional dollar through a pledge from the Garron family – doubling the impact of the support.

With Toronto mascots, Canadian athletes and local news personalities adding to the excitement, Friday August 5th, 2016 was a perfect day for the 10th Annual Danforth Dash Bed Race to kick off Krinos Taste of the Danforth.

A huge thank you and congratulations to three-time Presenting Sponsor and four-time Golden Bed Pan Champion, Amalgamated Transit Union Local 113.

Thank you, as well, to Gold Sponsor, RBC, and Silver Sponsor, Beck Taxi, for their outstanding support

We would also like to acknowledge the generosity of The East York Mirror, Tippet Richardson, and Greektown on the Danforth BIA for making a tremendous impact on community health at Michael Garron Hospital!

About the Event

Friendly competition and raising funds for a great cause is what the Bed Race has been about for the last decade. This community event puts the ‘fun’ in fundraising.

Local business, friends and supporters come together to sponsor hospital beds and race down the Danforth in a quest to win the coveted Golden Bed Pan Trophy.

Every year this event takes place just before the streets are filled with the finest Greek food for Krinos Taste of the Danforth.  To date this highly-anticipated event has raised nearly $350,000 to help our hospital set a new standard of care for our community.
