Olive Dodds

Proof that Age is Nothing but a Number!

From World War One and the Great Depression to the Civil Rights movement and the technological revolution, Olive Dodds has lived through the history many of us only ever read about in high school textbooks.

Shortly after immigrating to Canada while in her 70s, Olive who had been a nurse in England – became a volunteer at the hospital. For three decades, Olive has knitted dolls for the hospital gift shop and clothes and hats for the newborns that begin their lives at MGH.

In 2002, at the age of 92, Olive was an angioplasty patient at our hospital; she often comments on being grateful to MGH for giving her so many extra years. Olive’s happy disposition, witty sense of humor and sharp mind prove that age is nothing but a number.

This past August, Olive celebrated her 106th birthday.

Happy Birthday Olive and thank you for your continued dedication and commitment to Michael Garron Hospital!
